One of the most powerful (and scary) prayers I’ve ever prayed is that God remove the scales from my eyes and reveal to me the truth. Sometimes that truth is about the others in my life, but more often it is the truth about myself that rocks me to the core and shakes me to my foundation.
In honor of MLK Day, I found this piece to help focus my meditation this week. James Taylor’s Shed A Little Light, found on the album New Moon Shine. Incidentally, that is one of the first tapes I ever bought. Yes, tape. Because back then CDs were very new technology and I couldn’t afford a CD player!
About an hour after I originally posted this, a friend sent me one of her daily meditations that I just had to share in conjunction with this post:
Thank you God for revealing Yourself as love in my life.
Thank you God for revealing Yourself as peace in my life.
Thank you God for revealing Yourself as the joy of my life.
Thank you God for revealing Yourself as the prosperity and abundance of my life.
Thank you God for revealing Yourself at the center of my life.
Thank you God for revealing yourself in all of my relationships.
Thank you God for defending me, protecting me, guiding me and for taking care of everything that concerns me.
Thank you God for providing my every need.
Most of all God, I am thanking you for loving me just as I am.
Thank you for knowing what I need, and for being the fulfillment of my needs, even before I ask.
For this day I Am so grateful.
And So It Is.
